From Taxation Without Representation Stadium:
The Nationals are coming to town...but apparently, DC is having trouble finding a company to pay for the naming rights, and hadn't even received a single offer in writing – until now. We have officially submitted the first written offer for a new name:
"Taxation Without Representation Field at RFK Stadium"
Think of it. Every time we enjoy the national pastime here in DC, we'll remind America that we lack another national tradition – democracy. Help us now! Get off your astroturf, and use the form below to make your pledge (we'll only ask you to pay if we can raise enough, so pledge as much as you can!)

That's a fantastic story, D. We should definitely make common cause--and in a nice small-world twist, I know the folks at Grassroots Enterprise who are behind that effort (and whose tool is powering the site.) I've been meaning to drop them a line anyway and will try to meet up with them in DC.

The citizens of the Distrit of Columbia deserves the same freedoms that Americans enjoy. We at the Stamp Act Congress applaud efforts to rename the stadium with the name, "Taxation without Representation stadium! We have covered on it our blog and hope you will pledge to name the stadium and educate America that we in this city are yearning to be free of Taxation without Representation.
I pledged $1,000 and hope you will as well

Well, David and I attended the home opener for the Nationals here in the District last night. Apparently though, the naming rights have beens sold the the highest bidder: The National Guard. And so we have "Armed Forces Stadium at R.F.K." Well, at least it's not some stupid company, like PSI COM or PAC BELL, right? And hey, it's only temporary until they build the fancy new park and sell those rights.
